A website operating from the Pitcairn Islands requires a .pn registration. The Pitcairn Island group comprises four islands in the southern Pacific Ocean. A part of UK's overseas territory, the Pitcairn Islands were assigned the Internet ccTLD extension .pn in 1997. Both second level and third level domain registrations are allowed under .pn.
The .pn domain was an issue of a dispute in the year 2000 between the islander Tom Christian, who was deputed with the management of the domain by ICANN, and the government of the Pitcairn Island. It was ultimately resolved by ICANN that the .pn domain would be re-delegated to the Island Council.
The Pitcairn Island Administration is the sponsoring organization as well as the registry that governs the .pn registration. This organization helps users to register second level and third level Internet domain names within the .pn top level domain. The administration reserves the right to modify or amend the .pn policies at any time. According to the .pn registration agreement, the use of a particular name should not violate any trademark or other statutes, and should conform to the laws of Pitcairn Island in all respects. Moreover, registering a domain name does not grant any exclusive legal rights to that name, and any disputes between parties over the rights to use a peculiar name should be settled by using the normal legal procedures.
The registration procedures and domain name allocation are carried out on a first-come, first-served basis. The registrations are made directly at the second level. However, some of these second level domains are reserved for organizational categories.

We provide a domain name
registration
service that enables users to register second level Internet domain
names
within the .PN top level domain. Although we will attempt to
accommodate
your request for a particular domain name, we do not guarantee that you
will
receive the name you have requested or that you will have the legal
right
to use any domain name you register. For more information about
registering
domain names, review the Registration
Agreement
(the "Registration Agreement").
3.
USE OF THE SITE
As a condition of your use
of
the Service, you warrant to The Pitcairn Islands Office that you will
not use the Service for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by
these
Terms of Service. The Pitcairn Islands Office expressly
prohibits
any unauthorized commercial use of the Service or the resale of the
Service.
You agree to abide by all applicable local, state, national and
international
laws and regulations and are solely responsible for all acts or
omissions
that occur under your account. The Pitcairn Islands Office has
no
obligation to monitor the Service or any user's use thereof or retain

content of any user session. However, The Pitcairn Islands Office
reserves
the right at all times to monitor, review, retain and/or disclose any

defamatory, obscene, offensive or illegal content or conduct of any

or misstatements in any and all information or services provided by The
Pitcairn
Islands Office to you;
h.resulting from the
development or interruption of your website;
i.from your inability
to use
a domain name registered to you;
j.that you may incur in
connection with The Pitcairn Islands Office's processing of your
application for
the Service; or
k.resulting from the
application of The Pitcairn Islands Office's Dispute Policy.
WITHOUT LIMITING THE
FOREGOING, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE PITCAIRNS
ISLANDS Office SHALL NOT BE LIABLE TO YOU OR YOUR BUSINESS FOR ANY
ACTUAL, DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR

any third party ("Claims") due to or arising out of your use of or
conduct on this Site or the Service. Without limiting the generality of
the foregoing, you specifically agree to
release, indemnify, defend and hold The Pitcairn Islands Office,

name system and the practice of registering and administering domain

are evolving, and therefore, you agree that The Pitcairn Islands Office
shall have the right, in its sole discretion, to modify the .pn
Policies
from time to time. Any such modification shall be binding and effective
immediately
upon posting of the modified .pn Policies on this Site. You agree
periodically to
review this
Site to be aware of
any
such modifications. The Pitcairn Islands Office reserves the
right
to withdraw, suspend or discontinue, in its sole discretion, any
functionality
or features in this Site, including the cessation of all activities and
services
associated with this Site.
14.
GENERAL PROVISIONS
a.No Relationship
Created.
You agree that no joint
venture,
partnership, employment, or agency relationship exists between you and
The
Pitcairn Islands Office as a result of the Terms of Service or
your
use of the Service.
b.Compliance with Laws.
The Pitcairn Islands
Office's performance of the Terms of Service is subject to
existing laws and legal process, and nothing contained in the Terms of
Service is in derogation of
The Pitcairn Islands Office's right to comply with governmental,
court
and law enforcement requests or requirements relating to your use of
the
Service or information provided to or gathered by The Pitcairn Islands
Office
with respect to such use.
c.Severability.
If any part of the Terms
of
Service is determined to be invalid or unenforceable pursuant to
applicable law including, but not limited to, the warranty disclaimers
and liability limitations set forth above, then the invalid or
unenforceable provision will
be deemed superseded by a valid, enforceable provision that most
closely matches
the intent of the original provision and the remainder of the Terms of

shall continue in effect. If no enforceable provision can be

Pitcairn Island, without regard to its conflicts of law principles. You
shall bring any action to enforce the Terms of Service or in connection
with any matters related to this Site only in Pitcairn Island. You
expressly consent to the
jurisdiction of said courts. Use of the Service is unauthorized in any

that does not give effect to all provisions of the Terms of Service,
